Common Bentley Suspension Problems And How to Fix Them

Common Bentley Suspension Problems And How to Fix Them

When it comes to luxury vehicles, Bentley stands out with its superior performance and comfort. However, like any other vehicle, Bentleys can also experience common suspension problems. This article will guide you through these issues and provide solutions on how to fix them.

What Suspension System Does Bentley Use?

Bentley uses an advanced air suspension system. This system is designed to provide a smooth and comfortable ride, but it can also experience air suspension failure. When this happens, the vehicle may start showing uneven vehicle height or display dashboard warning lights. Sometimes, the control system may be awaiting recalibration or software updates, which can also cause these symptoms.

How to Tell Your Bentley's Suspension System Has Problems

There are several signs that your Bentley's suspension system has problems. These include:

Uneven Vehicle Height or Sagging Corners

If your Bentley is showing uneven vehicle height or sagging corners, it could be experiencing air suspension failure. This could be due to air leaks in the suspension system or faulty height sensors in the air suspension system. Faulty height sensors can cause the vehicle to sit lower than usual, especially when parked overnight.

Loss of Ride Comfort

Loss of ride comfort is another sign of suspension problems. If your Bentley is suffering from poor handling or making abnormal suspension noises, it could be a sign of worn-out struts or shocks. Worn-out struts or shocks can lead to a deteriorating ride quality, making the vehicle less comfortable to drive.

"Suspension Fault" Warning Lights

If your Bentley is displaying dashboard warning lights, it could be dealing with electronic control system malfunctions. This could be due to a faulty air compressor or the need for recalibration or software updates in the control system.

Poor Handling Performance

Poor handling performance can be a sign of suspension problems. If your Bentley is requiring longer stopping distances or sitting lower when parked overnight, it could be showing signs of aging or degraded components.

Abnormal Noises When Driving

Abnormal noises when driving could be a sign of suspension problems. If your Bentley is making abnormal suspension noises, it could be suffering from damage to air lines.

Longer Stopping Distances

If your Bentley is requiring longer stopping distances, it could be a sign of suspension problems. This could be due to damage from potholes or impact.

Vehicle Sits Lower When Parked Overnight

If your Bentley sits lower when parked overnight, it could be a sign of suspension problems. This could be due to air leaks in the suspension system or faulty height sensors in the air suspension system.

Common Suspension Problems in the Bentley

Common suspension problems in the Bentley include:

Air Suspension System Failure

If your Bentley is experiencing air suspension failure, it could be due to air leaks in the suspension system or a faulty air compressor. This could result in the vehicle showing uneven vehicle height or displaying dashboard warning lights.

Sagging or Uneven Ride Height

If your Bentley is showing uneven vehicle height, it could be due to air leaks in the suspension system or faulty height sensors in the air suspension system. This could result in the vehicle sitting lower when parked overnight.

Faulty Air Compressor

If your Bentley is possessing a faulty air compressor, it could be dealing with electronic control system malfunctions. This could result in the vehicle displaying dashboard warning lights.

Deteriorating Ride Quality

If your Bentley is exhibiting deteriorating ride quality, it could be a sign of worn-out struts or shocks. This could result in the vehicle making abnormal suspension noises or requiring longer stopping distances.

Electronic Control System Malfunction

If your Bentley is dealing with electronic control system malfunctions, it could be due to a faulty air compressor or the need for recalibration or software updates in the control system. This could result in the vehicle displaying dashboard warning lights.

Damage from Potholes or Impact

If your Bentley is enduring damage from potholes or impact, it could be a sign of suspension problems. This could result in the vehicle requiring longer stopping distances.

Suspension Noise

If your Bentley is making abnormal suspension noises, it could be suffering from damage to air lines. This could result in the vehicle making abnormal suspension noises.

How to Resolve Suspension Problems in Bentley

To resolve suspension problems in Bentley, you can:

Have a Mechanic Diagnose the Problem

If your Bentley is experiencing air suspension failure or showing uneven vehicle height, have a mechanic diagnose the problem. They can identify if the vehicle is having air leaks in the suspension system or possessing a faulty air compressor.

Repair or Replace Any Faulty Parts

If your Bentley is needing repair or replacement of suspension parts, have a mechanic do the job. They can replace worn-out struts or shocks, repair damage to air lines, or replace faulty height sensors in the air suspension system.

Check the Electronic Control System

If your Bentley is dealing with electronic control system malfunctions, check the electronic control system. It may be awaiting recalibration or software updates.

Maintain the Vehicle Regularly

If your Bentley is awaiting regular maintenance and inspection, make sure to schedule it. Regular maintenance can prevent the vehicle from displaying symptoms of aging or degraded components.

Drive Carefully to Avoid Damaging the Suspension

If your Bentley is affected by poor driving habits, drive carefully to avoid damaging the suspension. This can prevent the vehicle from enduring damage from potholes or impact.
